Privacy Policy
BetterDo (“we”, “us”) makes a shared to-do app for couples, roommates, and families. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to run the app, and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account details. Your name and email address so you can sign in and share lists with the people you invite.
- Your content. The lists, tasks, notes, due dates, and reminders you create, and who they’re assigned to. This is shared with the members of your household.
- Push tokens. A device token so we can send reminder and nag notifications to the right phone. We don’t use it for anything else.
- Basic technical data. Standard logs (like IP address and app version) used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use your information
- To sync your shared lists between household members in real time.
- To schedule and deliver reminders — including the persistent nag — to the assigned person’s device.
- To operate, secure, and improve the app.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:
- With your household. Content you add to a shared list is visible to the other members of that household.
- Service providers. Trusted vendors that host our database and deliver push notifications, acting on our instructions.
- Legal reasons. If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content, except where we’re required to retain it for legal reasons.
Your choices
- Access & deletion. You can request a copy of your data or delete your account at any time.
- Notifications. You can turn off reminders in the app or disable notifications in your device settings.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children
BetterDo isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
